Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and service-oriented IT Support Specialist to provide technical assistance within a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will support clinical and administrative staff by ensuring the functionality, security, and performance of IT systems used in patient care and healthcare operations. This role requires strong technical abilities and an understanding of healthcare-specific applications and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide frontline technical support for clinicians, staff, and administrative users across various healthcare systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues across desktops, laptops, printers, and medical devices.
Support Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
Maintain and support HIPAA-compliant IT operations and patient data security.
Set up, configure, and maintain workstations, mobile devices, and secure remote access (VPN).
Respond to IT helpdesk tickets promptly and track issues through resolution.
Assist with user account creation, permission changes, and password management through Active Directory.
Support medical staff with video conferencing tools, telehealth systems, and clinical applications.
Document issue resolutions and maintain knowledge base articles for recurring problems.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to support system updates, antivirus tools, and policy enforcement.
Participate in system rollouts, device imaging, and equipment lifecycle management.
Qualifications:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field – or equivalent work experience.
1–3 years of IT support experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Experience with healthcare software and EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, MEDITECH).
Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Mac OS environments.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy considerations.
Preferred Qualifications:
IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
Experience supporting telehealth platforms and remote clinical workflows.
Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) tools and cybersecurity protocols.
Work Environment:
Rotating on-call support may be required.
Must be able to lift/move IT equipment (up to 40 lbs).
